GREAT LIMBER PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday, 5th March 2025 at 7pm in the Village Hall.
Present: Cllrs S Hudson (Chairman); J Hoyle, B Moor; S Christmas
In attendance: District Cllr A. Lawrence; S Acomb and Clerk.
1. Co-option of councillor: Cllr S Hudson welcomed Sally Acomb to the meeting. It was proposed, seconded and resolved to co-opt Sally Acomb onto the council.
2. Apologies for absence and reasons given: C. Read
Cllr O Bierley and Cllr T Smith had also sent their apologies.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011: None
4. To approve the Minutes of the last meeting held on 8th January 2025. The minutes were signed as a true record.
5. Chairman & Council's comments: Chairman advised that he had purchased the battery charger for the speed sign. The cost of this was £149.60 + VAT which needs to be claimed back.
A plaque has been purchased for the bench in memory of Tim Robinson which cost £30.
An invite to the Village Hall AGM has been received. The date of the meeting is 20th March 2025 @ 6.30pm if anyone is interested in attending.
The pond maintenance is due so will be carried out in the next couple of weeks. Cllr S Hudson will obtain a price for this.
The progress on the library phone box refurbishment is still ongoing.
Cllr S Christmas advised that the dog bin has been replaced.
Cllr J Hoyle advised that he would be resigning after the meeting in May.
6. Clerk's Report on matters outstanding:
Nothing to report
7. LCC Report: Cllr Smith was not in attendance.
8. WLDC Report: Cllr Bierley's report was circulated prior to the meeting. Cllr Lawrence had nothing to add. It was noted that it seems reasonable to assume that our council tax precept will be increased by 2.99%, which is the maximum allowed without requiring a referendum. This is before they add the parish and the police amounts. The green bin service which has increased to £46 a year and will start on the 24th March. The road sweeper is back in service, clerk to arrange for this around the date of the litter pick if possible.
9. Finance: to approve accounts:
Accounts for payment: Resolved to pay: J Milson £524.84; Cllr S Hudson £209.52.
Clerk advised that she has not received the bank statement for January. Cllr S Hudson to contact the bank to arrange for a copy.
10. Planning: To comment on any applications received: None.
11 Update on highways issues: Cllr Moor advised that the litter in the two lay-bys between Keelby and Great Limber is a problem. Clerk to ask Cllr Bierley if this litter can be collected.
Cllr Read had raised that a speed van had recently been seen outside the school on more than one occasion when we have not been able to get one to monitor speed on the High Street. Clerk to raise this with Cllr Smith.
12. Litter Picking – Cllr Christmas has registered with the Keep Britain Tidy scheme. The date for this was agreed - 22nd March 2025 10am to 12pm. Cllr J Hoyle to send clerk last year’s poster so it could be posted on Facebook.
13. Co-op Green Space project: Ideas for this project were considered but none to be progressed. Cllr Hudson asked councillors to think of new projects for the future.
